Azalea Trails Arts and Crafts Fair

The opening weekend for the Azalea Trails is this weekend in Tyler, Texas. It's also the weekend for the annual Azalea Trails Arts and Crafts Fair at Bergfeld Park which is right in the middle of the Azalea Trails.

If your coming out this weekend to see all the beautiful flowers blooming, stop by my booth at the craft fair. I'll have plenty of goodies for everyone. We'll be open Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

It's suppose to be a beautiful weekend, weather wise. Warm and alittle breezy.

My etsy shops will be on hiatus for this weekend only. I'll reopen them on Monday.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Trying something new!

I have never been into making scrapbooks but I do love all the great scrapbooking papers and accessories that you can buy. During Christmas, I made some hang tags for my jewelry that was displayed at the Plantation Pines Christmas Tree Farm gift shop. That was fun and pretty easy, so when I needed some thank you cards for the mom's in my son's class who helped with parties all year, I thought I would try my hand at making them.

I already had white card stock so I wanted paper that would coordinate. I ended up getting a pink stripe paper that was full of summer colors and combined that with a pink floral with coordinating colors. I found a "thank you" stamp at Michaels in the $1 bin and used black ink to stamp my thank yous onto pink vellum. I cut the thank yous out with my crafty decorative scissors, glued them to the floral paper which was then glued to the striped paper then to the card stock. WHEW!

Then I decorated the cards with little colored metal flower brads. I'm sure there is a scrappy way of making the holes for the brads but I didn't know what it was. So I just used my ice pick. All in all though, I think they turned out nice, especially for my first time. I mailed them out today so we shall see. One of the mom's is a crafty scrapper so I'm sure she will have some pointers for me on how I can improve - and maybe even tell me the secret to making the brad holes so that I don't have to use the ice pick! LOL Here are my pics!

Not bad for a first try huh????

I've been so busy for the past few weeks getting ready for an upcoming local craft show. I'll be doing the Azalea Trail Arts and Craft show on March 15th and 16th in Tyler, Texas. If your in the area, come on down to Bergfeld Park and see all the great things. The azaleas will be blooming and the Trails wind through some lovely, historic brick streets that have beautiful yards and gardens. We get alot of visitors from out of town during this time to see our city bloom.

Here's a sneak peak of some things I've been working on for the show. Some has been listed in my etsy shop and some hasn't.

Black Friday is here!

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone (and been eaten) and it's now time to start frantically shopping for Christmas. The newspaper was full of stories this morning about people sitting outside retail stores since 11:30 am Thanksgiving day, waiting for the big sale. I personally, never go out on Black Friday. The idea of being crowded in a building with lots of other people and then standing in line forever trying to pay for something, gives me the heebee geebees.

It's also time to start the old Christmas decorating. If your looking for a beautiful, fresh cut tree - look no further than Plantation Pines Christmas Tree Farm in Tyler, Texas. They have beautiful trees in a gorgeous country setting with FREE hot chocolate and a wonderful gift shop where you can do all your shopping. I am selling my jewelry pieces in their gift shop for the second year in a row and I hope everyone really enjoys them. I've taken some really pretty pieces out there so if your in the area, stop in and browse. Even if your not in the market for a fresh tree, the gift shop is worth the drive. Check out their website at http://plantationpinesfarms.com. You will not be disappointed.

Happy Holidays!

Getting ready for Plantation Pines Christmas Tree Farm!

I am getting some of my jewelry pieces ready to take to the AWESOME gift shop out at Plantation Pines Christmas Tree Farm. They will be opening their doors next weekend for all the Christmas tree shoppers coming to chop down a tree. It is located between Tyler and Lindale off of Hwy 69 North and is definitely worth the drive. Their trees are beautiful and their gift shop has soooo many cute things (including mine, of course). If your in the area, stop by and see.

But never fear, my etsy shop will remain open for all of your holiday needs! My earrings make great stocking stuffers and I have cell phone charms that are too cute!

As an added feature, you can get your purchase gift wrapped for only $1.00 and I will mail it out to the gift recipient if you so choose.

Happy shopping!

Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving?

And soon the Christmas season will be in full swing! We have some neighbors up the street from our house who seem to compete with each other every year with yard decorations. They live across the street from each other and every year their yards get brighter and brighter. I bet their electric bills are gianormous! We are just waiting for the first decoration to go up and we think it will be this coming weekend. The great thing about it though, is that no one else needs to turn on their regular outside lights because those 2 houses light up our whole neighborhood.

It does look pretty though!
