Finally, I have practiced and practiced and I now have 3 whimsical soldered glass pendants to list in my etsy shop. One I listed last night and the other 2 are going to be listed today. I really enjoy making these and I hope you like them too! Please leave your comments!

Here they are:

Where does the time go? It speeds by so quickly I can barely catch my breath.

I have been working on learning to solder glass pendants and it's going pretty good. I'm going to work on some today and see if I think they are actually good enough to sell. I bought a new soldering iron and it works way better than the one I borrowed from my husband.

Here is a picture:

The one on the left is my latest effort and the one on the right is my first effort with my husbands wonky soldering iron. That one is pitiful. My hubby just laughed and laughed when he saw it. I think I'm getting way better though - practice, practice, practice!

Leave your comments - I'd love to hear them!

Have a good day!

By now everyone is familiar with ETC’s awesome First Monday™ Sales event when dozens of ETC shops participate by listing fabulous sales in their shops. Since 1st Monday™s are so popular we thought we would give 2nd Mondays their day in the spotlight too! 2nd Monday™s are Texas Treasure Hunt days!
On the 2ND Monday of each month, ETC (Etsy Texas Crafters) will host a Texas size Treasure Hunt!
WINTER WONDERLAND Treasure Hunt details:
This month we want to warm you up Texas Style! Willy the Perky Penguin has escaped from tiddlyinks shop & is running amuck through Texas Etsy shops picking out all his favorite items to warm you heart, warm your spirits or just plain keep YOU warm.
Our Jan Treasure Hunt will begin at 12:01am on Jan 14Th & end at 12:00 midnight on that same day (Central time — that would be 1:01am Monday to 1:00am Tuesday, Etsy time).

When you’ve found 10 or more items, convo your list of the URL addresses (links) for those items to http://ArtSpot.etsy.com
If there is more than 1 correct entry, by the midnight deadline, all correct entries will be placed in a stocking & one winner will be drawn. If there are no complete & correct entries, the person with the most correct entries will be designated that month’s winner. Winner will be notified/announced no later than midnight on Tuesday Dec 11Th.
ETC members are not eligible to win.
The more items you find and submit, the better your prize selection will be. The winner will get too *choose* 1 item from their submitted list as their prize!
In the event that the winners 1st choice of prizes sells during the contest, winner would have to choose another prize from their submitted list. Have fun hunting!

My light box is complete!

Well, I have finally completed a light box. It was really easy to do - I just followed the instructions that I found (with the help of etsy forums) at http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/.

I followed the instructions exactly and I spent $0 on the materials as I had everything on hand. Here is a picture of my new light box:

I'm still practicing with it though. It's harder than I thought it would be. I used a huge lamp yesterday to take some pictures and they came out kinda yellow. So today I took it outside and used natural light. I think those pictures came out better. I will post a before and after as soon as I get them uploaded to the computer. I was hoping the light box would keep me from having to depend on a bright sunny day to take my pictures. I'm going to keep working on it - I have to get better at this whole photography thing at some point. :)

Anyone have any tips or comments?? I would love to hear from you!

Happy New Year!

I just had to post a message for the new year. Hopefully, this week I will get back into the groove of things because the holiday season has really slowed me down.

I have made a to do list and have already started working on it. But tomorrow is back to work for sure!! I've got to get my new bookmarks listed in my etsy store (they are adorable). And I have ideas for many more.

I also have a ton of stuff I need to list on ebay. Toys, books, coats, boy's pajamas - it's all gotta go.

So I better get crackin'.

Happy New Year 2008 Everybody!!!
I hope you all have a blessed year!
