Today's work

Today, I've been working on 3 new aprons for my shop - 2 with the new Gypsy Bandanna fabric from Michael Miller - which I LOVE!
I haven't listed a new apron in at least 2 weeks, so I'm going to try to get these done quickly.

Why I haven't listed new aprons and what I've been working on the past 2 weeks - coming in my next blog post.

I also forced myself to sit down and work on my promotional material today.  I put a little matchbook notepad with my shops name on it, in all of the orders that I send out and I was almost out of them.  I think I was down to 2.  But, I managed to make about 35 of them today - so YAY!  Also printed up more business cards and blog info cards.
Glad to be done with that stuff for awhile.  I'd much rather sew.

Funky New Aprons

I have 2 funky new aprons for my etsy shop.  I've listed the "what came first" apron already and will probably list the Hootie Owl apron tomorrow.

Very cute!
What do you think about them?

Also, I finally got a much anticipated package in the mail yesterday.  It's for a new craft project that I'm going to try out.  I'll keep you posted on how it goes.  If it turns out well, I'll be listing them in my shop.  (This is in spite of the fact that I promised myself I wouldn't do any new crafts or buy any new supplies for awhile.  I just don't think I'm capable of not buying crafting supplies.)

New Blogger Feature

Well, if any of you looked at my blog yesterday, you saw that I had changed it. What really happened was I played around with Bloggers new "Design" feature and it changed everything.

So, now thanks to Backgroundfairy.com, I've restored it to the way it was before - which I liked just fine. She has figured out a way to get around the design feature for all those who accidentally saved it and messed up their blogs.

Here's a pic of the new Apron I've just listed in my Handmade Whimzy etsy shop. I used Michael Miller's new Bite Me fabric which I really love.

My Apron Design

Well all, this has been a long time coming. I've been meaning to post the pics of my new apron design for awhile and just haven't. I've taken it over to my MIL and she has approved it and thinks it's a very wearable apron. Although, she does think I should add a pocket which I am planning on doing. I'll probably work on that tomorrow.

There are so many things I want to get done and so many things I need to get done. I feel really "backed up" because of the health issues I've had lately. Hopefully, those are coming to an end and I can get back on track. I need to get some of these ideas out of my head. LOL

So here are my pics:

My apron as a half apron. The ties are grosgrain ribbon. I'm thinking about changing that for the next apron although, I do like the feel of the grosgrain. It's very easy to work with and to tie.

My apron as a full apron.

My apron with me wearing it.

So, what do you think? I would really like to hear your comments. Is there anything you think I should change to make it more wearable?
This is my own design. I made the top extra big to cover more chest area. I hate aprons that sink down between your boobs. And the skirt hits about mid thigh on me (I'm 5'4"). Do you think it should be longer? Also, the pockets will be added to the bottom portion of the apron - not the top.
(You might notice that my dress form has no legs. I got her at a yard sale but my husband is going to make her some legs. :)
