As I mentioned in a previous post, I did the First Christian Church Arts and Crafts show this past weekend. Well, when I was getting my stuff ready to go, I realized my booth sign that I've been using for awhile (and is totally homemade out of foam board) specifically stated that I sell unique jewelry. And while I did plan to have a few pieces of my jewelry there, my main focus was my aprons, hair accessories and the little wooden initial pendants that I only make for craft shows.
So I made me a new sign. I wanted to make a bunting but didn't have the time to make a real fabric one. So, I used foam board (I recycled my old sign!), scrapbook paper that I already had and letters that I printed off a free site on the internet.
I mod podged the scrapbook paper to the foam board and then glued the letters on. We clothespinned all the triangles to a jute string and pinned it to the table. I think it came out pretty good.
Although, it did confuse some of the customers who thought I was selling it by the letter. I think I probably should have made the triangles smaller.
Ironically, the church always has a bake sale table at the show and they were also selling buntings made out of construction paper by the little kids Sunday school class. They were very cute. And I want to say kudos to whoever made the cheesecake brownies that my son bought at the bake sale. He ate them all so they must have been good. :) It was the first time he stayed with me through a whole show. It was nice having him there.

Holiday Bazaar
This coming Saturday, November the 13th, Handmade Whimzy will be at the Holiday Bazaar at First Christian Church on the corner of Broadway and Loop 323 in Tyler, Texas from 9 am to 4 pm.
I'll be taking all my stock with me and it may or may not come back to my online shop. SO, if there is an apron that you had your heart set on, nows the time to buy. I won't be making any more Christmas aprons this year, so when these are gone, they're gone.
Keep your fingers crossed that this will be a great show!

Red, White, and Blue Festival in Bullard, Texas
Thanks Bullard, Texas and Darlene for organizing such a great festival! I'm from a small town and this really brought back memories of the yearly parade and festival that I grew up with.
Bullard is such an adorable little town. The festival was in celebration of Veteran's day and it was awesome. They had a parade, Miss Armed Forces contest, art contests for the kiddos, an arts and crafts fair, some yummy food and lots of performances by local folks.
My booth did fairly well considering it was a pretty small festival and it was my first time. I met a couple of etsy sellers that I didn't know and saw a couple of sellers that I did know. Betty over at Glassyboop who does awesome fused glass, sold me a really sweet Christmas tree ornament and is making me a custom piece that I will be giving as a gift. Can't say what it is because the giftee might peak and not be surprised.
I also saw AlexiaJean, who is one of my fellow Etsy Texas Crafters. She makes things for wee ones like little bows, dresses, things like that. I know she had a great weekend at the festival and seemed really happy at the end.
One last thing to mention, they had the most wonderful portable potties there that I had ever seen. They had heat and A/C, running water, soap, paper towels and a little bowl of mints. Everyone who used them was soooooo excited. Thanks Darlene for getting us those great toilets!!!!

Craft Show Tomorrow!
This weekend I will have a booth at the Rose Festival Arts and Crafts in Tyler, Texas. The Arts and Craft show has been moved this year from Bergfeld Park to the Rose Garden. Keep your fingers crossed that we will have a good turnout. Anytime there is a change in venue, I get nervous. Mostly because it usually takes 2-3 years for people to figure out where you've moved to.
We went tonight and set up our tent and carried all the heavy stuff in. We have a good location, right by the entrance and our neighbors that we met seem really friendly.
The Rose Parade starts at 9 a.m. and I'm thinking that we will be really busy once ends as there will be so many people already in the area from the parade. Let's just hope the traffic continues.
I have tons on new stuff for the show - unfortunately, no pics :(
I even have some special lampwork glass rose earrings in red and yellow.
If you're in the area, stop on by and visit!
