New Half Aprons!

I've just listed 2 new half aprons in my etsy shop.  This is the first time I've made them.  They're just like my full aprons only without the bib on top.

I'd love to hear comments  - tell me what you think about them.

My blogging will probably be sporadic the next few days, as will my sewing.  Guess why?
Ok, I'll tell you :)

Because I'm going to be painting my sewing room.  YAY!
It's never been painted - walls are just white and I think it's primer.  So I'm going to paint it the same Dancing Mist color that I painted my powder room in this post.  I'm also repainting the trim (in the whole house) and doors (in the whole house).  I spent most of this past week reorganizing and packing away craft supplies that I don't use on a daily basis but still want to keep.  Now I have room for my tables, room for my cutting mat and room to sew!!  I'll be posting pics of before and after when I get it finished.

I think I might buy me some girly curtains and really girl it up.  We'll see.....

New Giveaway at Etsymom's Blog

The Etsymom Team is having a giveaway on our blog this week sponsored by FeltedKitten.  She is giving away your choice of either a pink or blue felt crown.  They are adorable and they fit adult heads - I checked.  LOL

To enter and to read about Felted Kitten, click HERE.

This is my favorite item in her shop - a felted cupcake pin cushion.  It could also be used as play food.
It's made from upcycled sweaters.  I think that's so clever.  And so yummy looking.

So check out the Etsymom team blog and enter to win a crown.  Then no one will be able to argue with you when you say you're the Queen because you'll have the crown to prove it.  LOL

I've finally kinda figured out Facebook

I've been slow when it comes to getting on Facebook.  I have people ask me all the time if I'm on it.  For some reason, I've had a hard time figuring it out.  It doesn't seem user friendly to me.  But apparently, I'm the only person in the world who feels that way, so it must be me.  :)

I set up a "personal" page a few weeks ago and finally set up a business page last night.  I'd be honored if any of my blog readers would "like" me.  So now, I just have to remember to post updates to it.

Here is the link to my business fan page:

It's also over at the right ------------------>

Mini Ribbon Bookmark Tutorial

I've had this tuturial completed for awhile now, I just never got around to posting it. It's my first tutuorial :)

These sweet little ribbon bookmarks are great to use as free gifts when mailing packages. They're cute, light weight, and handy to use. So here goes!

Supplies needed:
ribbon
ribbon clamps
beads
lighter
candle
headpins
round nose and flat nose jewelry pliers
Step 1
Decide how long you want your bookmark to be and cut your ribbon accordingly. I made these about 5 inches with a diagonal cut on the bottom.
Step 2
Light your candle with the lighter and very gently melt the ends of your ribbons. This will prevent fraying and you won't have to use a liquid fray preventer which will make your ribbon sticky. Be careful not to catch the ribbon on fire. If you do burn the ribbon, you may have to cut the burnt part off and remelt the end.

Step 3

Fold the top of the ribbon over slightly and place your ribbon clamp on the top. Using your flat head jewelry pliers, tightly close the clamp. You may have to squeeze several times to make sure you have the clamp on tight.

Step 4

Place your beads on the headpin in the order that you would like them. Using your round nose pliers, bend the top of your headpin into an L shape. Use round nose pliers to curl the L part of the wire around the nose of your pliers to make a circle.Once your circle is made, slide the end of the headpin wire into the opening of the ribbon clamp.Clasp the circle with your round nose pliers and the end of the headpin with the flat nose pliers.Wrap the wire around itself using your flat nosed pliers to form a wrapped loop. Try to wrap the wire as tightly as possible as this will look the neatest.

You now have a finished bookmark!

My Ears Hurt

I am so sad.
My mom and boy had to take me to the doctor today because I wouldn't quit scratching my ear. I couldn't help it. It was itchy!

My mom said that I was going to have to wear the cone of shame if I didn't stop.
My new doctor looked in my ears and swabbed them out. It didn't feel good.
He put some stuff in them and told me that they were growing yeast.

My boy says yeast is what they use to make bread. I like bread. Can my ears make bread?
They don't itch as much anymore but I still have to get stuff in them ALL WEEK!

And my mom has to change my allergy medicine. My new doctor said that I was on the wrong kind and it was making me eat too much and stuff. He also said I need to have a bath 2 times each week. :(

That makes me very SAD! I hate to get a bath. My dad said that it will save money because mom and my boy have to bathe me now instead of taking me to Petsmart every couple of months. That's good because I hate to go to Petsmart to get a bath.

What a crummy day :(
